Just a few pics from the 2008 Breast Cancer 3 Day season

BETWEEN THE PICTURES

I believe real life happens not at the big events - when we usually opt to take pictures - but in between these events. These are my "life between the pictures" pictures

HAIR APPARENT

Various pictures of my hair loss and regrowth! Please note: you're looking at the hair ... not at how bad I look in some of these pics!

My experiment to try to capture something beautiful and real about cancer before it got away from me. Or before I got away from it.

POP goes the weasel. Word Up!

Happy Birthday!!!!! 40 is the new 20 or 30 or something like that. I can't remember, I'm 42 so I'm busy out clubbing every night cause I'm 25.

The hole in the heart is about right and I don't think anything helps grieving. There are days when I feel like an amputee that still has tingles in his leg that isn't there. I cry privately and look up into the heavens and wink every morning.

I can't believe you're doing triathlon's! I started doing them too right after my dad passed away. The SM Tri was canceled because of bad weather so I immediately signed up for the Jackson county Triathlon on 8/23. I've only been at this for about 10 weeks but it is amazing to discover just how far you can push your body. My knees would like to have a word with me but I tell them to talk to the hand.

Your fear is my fear although I'll add a twist - not only will Jason Voorhees come swimming up from the bottom with a dead body stuffed in his backpack, he'll be riding a shark that hasn't eaten in a couple of weeks. I'm certain that I'll get nabbed and the story after that is so terrifying I can hardly sit on a toilet without fearing they water or the consequences.......:O

You are accountable to anyone, you're just fascinating and a great story teller. Most of us can't do what you do and envy your talent. That's all - no pressure.

    Good luck on the triathlon.

You are so good with words. There's a song "God shaped hole" that you might like.

Rock that Tri. Good luck on the rest of 3 Day season.

    See you next August.

PS - Toe looks like hell but no pain. Nail will probably come off within a month.

Seeing you again in Michigan and Cleveland was great! Some of us are going to San Fran for their event too! Having hubby on the tour, nice... and you do look great! Walk On! Stinky!

Half Iron? What the H-E-Double-CRAZY are you thinking?!? Can't wait to hear how it went. I couldn't run to my mailbox (I have asthma like the Pope has robes) but you've inspired me to give it a shot! Low hanging fruit first - Turkey Trot (5K) in Detroit on Thanksgiving.

    Hi Jenne
Just read your post and was touched with what you said about missing your dad. Brought a tear to my eye. My dad died this year. Here's what I wrote on that.
