I'm sure there are lots of us who are waiting patiently (??) for the past tense. And rooting for the Person.

And when this is all a memory, maybe you'll try that naked Chief’s stadium deal and let us know how that works out!

If people can't understand and their eyes glaze over, just send them here, to your blog, where you take us places with your metaphors and images. You take us inside, even, in this post. I can't truly understand all of this suffering, but if ever I had a chance to, it would be through your gift of storytelling-explanation. I still think of the brick fireplace you're moving.

Maybe Steve is a kickboxer...

It's like a debate. Each side getting their turn to speak. And even though the Body makes a boisterously strong point or two, it's the Person that silently listens and eventually wins.
And I think after this war is over, the Person will have much more of an arsenal than the Body.
Hang in there Person!

Thank you for pulling the curtain back for us, those who love you, to see as much as you're able to convey, for helping US to understand you as much as we're able to from this vantage point. For most of us, this might be as close as we'll ever come to understanding what the cancer recovery battle is to engage--God willing.

I'm grateful for your generosity . . . we are better knowing.

And the person is the spirit. And the spirit is burning very brightly.

"People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet they pass by themselves without wondering." St. Augustine

I know right now there are many days when it's all the Body or the Person can do to get out of bed, but when we get to Past Tense, I'm still hoping the Person will write a book. You are gifted beyond words.

Susie, wow, what a quote. I'm pasting that into my quotations file for sure.
