And we could be out ... of our minds.
I posted last week about the mortgage process The Hub and I were going through. Yesterday we put in an offer on the house. We are so excited. Against all logic, we are excited.
The house is old
The house needs much work (MUCH work)
The roof needs replaced
The whole thing needs painted (and I mean the WHOLE thing)
The house has a septic tank
The house is heated by propane. Yes, propane. I mean how does that work? You know the only image I have in my mind is us walking around in the dead of winter with propane torches.
Regardless, we are very excited. Every night we go to sleep thinking about the house. Every morning we wake up and tell each other what we worked on. So far The Husband has cleaned everything, removed the walls downstairs, cleaned up the yard, fixed the shed out back and painted the outside of the house. I've worked on the garden, moved the kitchen to the dining room, refinished all the woodwork and put in a back door. This is all, of course, in our dreams.
But Oh if you could unscrew my head and peek inside you would see the most lovely home. You would also probably see bears juggling and a trapeeze act, but that's always there.
Thanks to Google Earth, here is what the house and surrounding property looks like from 30,000 feet. I’m showing you this view because from any other (closer) view, you’d think we’d lost our minds. But from here, it looks pretty good.
Home sweet home, y'all.
I'm from Jersey so please forgive my ignorance....whats all that green stuff around your house? where are the strip malls, the McMansions, and how do you get to Rte 9 from here?

You moved to the country! That is sooo cool! You did the right thing. And the houses I lived in growing up had septic tanks and were heated by propane...I like both better than what we have now.
I have to say, I'm jelous. No one around you. Did you get some acreage with it?
Congrats!

It's all in the mind's eye and it sounds like you have that well in hand. All appropriate appendages crossed.
